I have always loved to draw and found it easier to tell my story or help others tell their story through my drawings and paintings.
After four years of art college at Center for Creative studies in Detroit I was excited to be hired at Skidmore art studio in 1980. It was a magical place to work as a young artist, so many talented artist with many different skills like sketch artists, line artists, airbrush painters, acrylics/oil painters, lettering guys and some of the top designers in the land.
I was surround by greatness, but didn’t know how to make it as a young apprentice. I could not compete among so many great artists, but over time I noticed not a lot of artists were interested in doing storyboards. Maybe because storyboards are about drawing challenges and telling a story through many art frames from the art director scripts it became a great fit for me so I found my place among the great ones.
Today I’m a freelance storyboard artist drawings storyboards for clients like Ford, Chevy, Mazda, Carfax, Bush’s beans, Michelin, Rocket mortgage, and just did a storyboard for this years super bowl.
I’m married to my greatest cheerleader Shelley with four children and one granddaughter.
All the drawings in this artistic devotional will inspired you to go deeper in a closer walk with God and in helping you tell your amazing story inside of you. So get a fist full of colored pencils and find a quiet place to renew and refresh your soul.
Enjoy!
